2022 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Bardstown, KY
My wife and I were driving at highway speed around 70mph and truck shut off. There were no dash indicators or warning lights that signaled any engine/diagnostic issues prior to engine shutting off. Lost all power but still had brakes and steering. Coasted to safe stopping point and truck would not turn over or restart. The truck had to be towed to dealer for repair. The assessment was the engine had seized while driving and would be replaced under the GM 6.2L engine recall.

My 2019 truck with 50k miles on it, broke down and nearly caused an accident. The safety recall for the wiring harness chafing was not assigned to my VIN. I had vehicle towed to find out my loss of power and 17 error codes were due to the wires rubbing due to improperly installed by the dealer per this NHTSA. I called the 1800 number for Chevy and they told me my VIN wasn’t “Picked” to be part of this recall. I asked why, my vehicle did exactly what recall said. They said sorry we can’t do anything. I could have died the way the truck acted. I need a complaint filed and assistance having the dealer add my VIN to this recall. Any assistance will be appreciated.

I went to do an errand pulled in to parking spot put car into park shut it off. Car dash repeatedly said put car into park. All dash lights, would go on from left to right and shut off, this included the center console. I tried over and over to start car and shift but it wouldn’t go. It just kept repeating shift into park. It took 95 mins before the car would start. Then the RPMS would rev way past what they should. I lived 30 miles away. I made it home slowly. The next morning I took to my son tha is a GM certified mechanic. I’m not sure what he did but it’s running smoothly again.

2019 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Holland, MI
Bearing and Engine failure, Had to pay out of pocket for a new engine at 78,000 miles. The problem was diagnosed by my local dealer Denoyer Chevrolet in holland Mi. There was no warning lamps, messages, nor symptoms. Dealer had all the info on date, inspection and repair. Engine failures like this are very dangerous as they can cause catastrophic injury or damage. General Motors should be held accountable and made to pay back customers for there damaged products.

2026 CHEVROLET TAHOE- Canonsburg, PA
I am writing to formally file a safety complaint regarding a catastrophic engine failure in my 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe equipped with a 6.2L engine. The vehicle had approximately 9,640 miles at the time of failure. On March 21, 2026, while driving on a highway, the engine failed suddenly and without warning, creating an unsafe and potentially dangerous situation. The vehicle lost power and had to be towed from the highway to Colussy Chevrolet for inspection and repair. On March 22, 2026, the dealership confirmed that the engine required full replacement and stated that a new engine had been ordered, with an expected arrival date of March 30. I specifically requested that a new engine be installed, given the extremely low mileage and severity of the failure. Approximately one week later, I followed up and was told the engine was still scheduled to arrive on March 30. However, on March 30, I was informed that the order status had changed to “under evaluation,” and the Service Manager indicated that the replacement engine would likely be a remanufactured unit instead of a new one. On April 1, 2026, I contacted General Motors Customer Support to escalate the issue and reiterated my request for a new engine, as well as requested a loaner vehicle due to the loss of use of my vehicle. A representative opened Case #92297395 and advised that the issue had been referred to the Parts Delay Department, with a promised follow-up within 24 hours. On April 2, 2026, the dealership informed me there was no change in status and that while they intended to provide a loaner vehicle, none were available. As of April 6, 2026, I have not received a loaner vehicle or any follow-up regarding availability. On April 6, 2026, I received a call from a General Motors Customer Assistance representative stating that there are ongoing delays related to both the engine and radiator, with no estimated timeline for repair completion.

Motor is not included in the 6.2 recall for some reason. It is consistently burning through 3 qts of oil every 2-3k miles. This is a major concern considering I travel a lot. I want to know why this specific motor isn’t covered in the recall considering it is having the same issues as the current recall. This has been an ongoing issue and I have been waiting for a recall notice. GM dealership says there is no recall and won’t ever be one.

2025 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Houston, TX
On March 6, 2026 exactly one month ago from today, I was driving my Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 with a 6.2 liter gas engine to a family vacation. We were traveling through our home state to another state. I was driving and my wife, along wiht two children (age [XXX] and [XXX] ) and my family dog were all riding inside the truck. We were traveling at posted highway speed approximately three hours from our home. There was a whine from the engine compartment that got progressively louder in about 30 seconds. Then the engine began to lose power. We were near a chevrolet dealer so I pulled in the service bay, where the technician swiftly told me to cut off the engine, that my crankshaft was broken and it lead to catastrophic engine failure. The vehicle is available for inspection at the same Chevrolet dealer we visited one month ago. My family's safety was put at risk because we were traveling at highway speed and the vehicle witnessed catastrophic engine failure. Due to catastrophic engine failure, the engine has not been turned on by the dealer since departing the service department. The vehicle was been inspected by the service department at a certified Chevrolet dealer. Interestingly, there were no warning lights or any type of warning other than the severe sound coming from the engine compartment. Prior to engine failure, there were no other symptoms of the problem other than the low pitched whine that progressively got louder over a ~30 second period of time.
