a week ago I was backing up and this truck is supposed to be equipped with a "REAR CROSS TRAFFIC BRAKINGF – When in Reverse, the system warns of detected cross-traffic approaching in either direction and provides alerts and hard emergency braking to help reduce the severity or help avoid collisions at very low speeds", I backed into another vehicle that was parked behind me. I did not receive any warnings and the automatic braking did not activate. I was fortunate that I was going slow and only damaged the other drivers door and my tailgate and bumper.

Steering is binding, does not return to center when turning, it has play in the steering, and rattles and shakes when driving in the highway. Dealer said it needs a steering shaft replacement. The car has been doing this since it had less than 50k miles. There were no warning lamps or messages. Since this is steering, it is dangerous and puts others at risk. The steering binding is a safety issue, and if left along long enough it might fully bind up causing an accident, and also reduces my ability to sense road traction conditions and make fine adjustments; I feel a recall is warranted because of the serious nature of this problem.

On or around XXX a my 2021 Silverado started making a rattling sound from the engine. The truck began to stall and the engine shut off three times while driving. I attached scanner the next day and the track showed P00011 and P00016 codes. Those codes are for the Camshaft Sensor and the Crankshaft Sensor. I went online and did research about the two codes and discovered there had been a couple recalls for these codes concerning my year model truck: (Recall Number 25V-274; GM: Campain N252494000). NHTSA Engineering Analysis EA25007 or RQ26001 I spoke with the Dealer I purchased vehicle from (Lynn Layton Chevrolet - Decatur, Al)and they said they will not begin repairs until they receive payment from GM or myself. I then spoke with Tyler at GM Corporate Customer Service. He said my VIN was not included in the GM Campaign|Recall. I asked why not because it is a 2021 Silverado and I’m having the exact same problems as vehicles included in the recall. He said because they checked their system and the parts used on my truck were from a different manufacturer than those included on the recall. I said that shouldn’t matter because my truck is having the same exact problems. I asked him to check and see if GM would be able to provide financial assistance to have motor repaired or replaced. Tyler told me that GM will not do repairs - they will only replace the engine. He said GM would not provide any financial assistance because my truck has 170k plus miles on it. I informed Him that I had previously taken my truck to Lynn Layton Chevrolet about these symptoms and it was diagnosed as transmission/torque converter problem. They changed transmission fluid and charged me ~$700. I then asked if GM would authorize a “Goodwill Replacement”. He said they would not. I called Lynn Layton Decatur back and asked how much would engine and reps if I have to pay for it. They said 10k -12k A local mechanic said he will fix for $6,000. Please help me get this resolved. • 2025 CHEVROLET TAHOE
    - Lawrence, KS

My 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe RST Performance Edition equipped with the 6.2-liter V8 experienced a catastrophic engine failure at approximately 28,400 miles. The Tahoe was towed to an authorized Chevrolet dealership. The dealer confirmed an internal engine failure requiring complete engine replacement. The vehicle and failed engine are currently at the dealership in Lawrence, Kansas, and should be available for inspection upon request. The precise internal cause has not yet been provided to me in writing. I was advised that obtaining and installing the replacement engine is expected to take approximately 60 to 90 days or longer. The scheduled 30,000-mile maintenance was performed by the Chevrolet dealership on June 29, 2026, when the odometer read 27,607 miles. The engine failed less than two weeks later, after approximately 800 additional miles. Two days before the failure, I noticed a knocking or ticking sound from the engine. Immediately before the failure, I heard loud squeaking or screeching followed by a severe metallic clanking sound, as though loose metal components were being thrown around inside the engine. The engine then shut off and the vehicle became immobilized in Park at an intersection. I was the first vehicle in a left-turn lane and could not shift the Tahoe into Neutral to push or coast it out of the roadway. Heavy traffic turning toward the highway was forced to maneuver around the disabled vehicle, creating a significant risk of a collision. The outside temperature was approximately 95 degrees, with a heat index of approximately 109 degrees. My dog was with me, and it took more than an hour to arrange transportation for him to a safe location before I could return to the disabled vehicle and continue waiting for the tow truck.
