After our cold winter here in PA when temperatures were -8 I noticed my tail light had a section not working and after looking at it I noticed a crack and water in that part. I started looking at replacing it until I seen it was going to be $2,000.00 just for the light. Will the Durango's that have these issues because of faulty parts pass state inspections until Dodge figures out what to do?

Unknown what causes the issue. I've read it could be the tpim. I was driving down the highway when the insturment cluster stopped working, no speedometer, no gear indicator, gas gauge not working, no dash lights. the wipers turned on and would not turn off lose of both turn signals (I pulled over and checked) thankfully there was not traffic behind me when I was making a turn. Speedometer stopped working. No warning lights, insturments cluster was black. Not sure if my Brake lights were functional I couldn't check as I by myself. This has happened 3 times in the last month and a half. Not sure if the airbags are still functional. This is a major electrical issue.There are numerous forums of this same issue affecting different year/ models of Dodge and Chrysler vehicles.

The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the driver's side sliding door failed to open. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the door actuator had failed. The mechanic replaced the door actuator; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The contact later received an Extended Warranty letter related to the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered due to the mileage. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.

On [XXX] my Durango started leaking coolant and steaming while I was driving. The steam was rising through the openings in the hood and was getting on the windshield. The coolant was pouring on the ground. I had to stop the car to prevent it from overheating. I had the vehicle towed to the dealer and they told me a coolant hose had broken at the rear of the engine. I did some research on this specific leak. I have a friend with the same year and model/trim as my Durango who also had the same exact problem just past 30K miles. When I looked online, I can find many instances of this same failure. Here's one example that includes some excellent photos of the issue: [XXX] The Dodge PN for this failed component is: 55038042AJ. This part is common for 2011-2025 Durangos and is on at least the 6th engineering revision as evidence by is cross compatibility with 55038042AE, 55038042AF, 55038042AG, 55038042AH, 55038042AI. This issue is systemic and dangerous. The engine can lose all coolant and overheat without warning. It spills coolant on the roadway creating a hazardous condition and the driver's view can be obstructed by the coolant on the windshield and in the air. There was no advance warning of this failure and I don't expect this sort of failure when a vehicle is so new and well maintained. The dealer fixed my vehicle at a cost of over $1700 for this repair which was just barely past the manufacturer's warranty term for the vehicle. The contact owns a 2017 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the front passenger's side door panel was detaching. The contact stated that the infotainment system screen was delaminating, causing the screen touchpad to engage vehicle functions independently. Additionally, the contact stated that upon driving the vehicle out of the garage, the contact became aware that oil had leaked from the vehicle onto the ground. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the oil was leaking from the O-ring in the engine. The mechanic determined that the O-ring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The vehicle lost power in all gears while driving on highway, I was in the middle of large semi trucks speeding around me and nearly hit me. The vehicle transmission acted up at 115,000 miles. It has clean transmission fluid and it is full. I believe it should be covered under the transmission recall for this year range but it does not have any recalls.

The contact owns a 2012 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while that while the vehicle was in for service, the independent mechanic discovered fuel leaking from the fuel filter heater assembly. The contact was advised that the fuel filter heater assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V635000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING, FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 202,000.

The rear tail light racetrack assembly gasket has permitted water intrusion, with currently about an inch of water having collected in the light. The lower segments of the LED lights have failed, posing a safety risk due to reduced visibility, as well as a fire risk. In addition, the rear license plate LED module has failed, likely due to this water intrusion, requiring replacement no less than 4 times since i have owned this vehicle (since 2015). This repair is costly, roughly $300 each time. It was just replaced in November of 2024, and has already failed.

While driving , the car just shuts off and the steering wheel and breaks lock. No matter how fast you’re going. Took to the mechanic and he said it was the WIN system.

The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated while driving at approximately 40 MPH, while the brake pedal was depressed the vehicle violently shuddered and stalled. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the torque converter and spark plugs needed to be replaced, and the vehicle needed a software update. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
