2022 GENESIS GV80- West Simsbury, CT
On numerous occasions in the last 3 years the AEB malfunctions and abruptly stops the car. It engages the AEB at least 2 more times before allowing the car to advance. It has happened after waiting at a light, while in stop and go traffic (on [XXX] in Orlando, FL with a tractor trailer behind me, and when exiting an exit ramp slowly with other cars. The most troubling event was when I was the first car at a light with no cars in front of me. The AEB engaged at least 8 times in succession during this event (this was in the middle of a busy intersection). This event was [XXX]. When this first happened I took the car to the Genesis dealership where is was purchased and was told that they couldn’t find an issue. I have subsequently been in touch with another dealership and was told on the phone that they have never heard of that happening. I found a short video on the internet today of this happening to someone, as well other people saying that it happened to them and the dealership doesn’t believe them. What do I have to do to have someone believe me before I am killed or seriously injured in an accident and/or cause injury to someone else because of the defect in my 2022 Genesis GV80? It is frightening to have this happen, but it is even more frightening to never know WHEN it’s going to happen. I am pleading for your help. 2019 GENESIS G70- Delray Beach, FL
The contact owns a 2019 Genesis G70. The contact stated that while driving 45-50 MPH and merging onto the highway, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle jerked and failed to respond while the RPMs increased. The contact exited the highway and continued driving at a slow speed. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving and exceeding 30 MPH. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V528000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); and related the failure to the recall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the engine control module software update was performed; however, the contact stated that while driving from the dealer's parking lot, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, the dealer informed the contact there was no earlier availability to diagnose the vehicle. The dealer referred the contact to Napleton's West Palm Beach Hyundai (2301 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33409), where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to the GDI fuel pump. The second dealer informed the contact that the recall repair was not performed correctly and referred the contact back to the first dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer attempted to contact the first dealer, but the first dealer had been unreachable. The manufacturer had not provided any further assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 45,980.

2023 GENESIS G70- Round Lake, IL
Dealer did not complete recall while in service Nov 15 2024, service order shows parts are on back order. After 2 months I reached out to Corp who reached out to dealer. Both copr and the dealer ended up calling back just yesterday, however the message from copr stated the part is ordered it's way but the message from the dealer stated software upgrade needs to be done first before ordering parts. But why software upgrade was never done 2 months ago while performing service? I can smell excess gasoline 5 mins after remote started and my thermometer temp spikes significantly upon start. Car has only 12k miles. I am afraid car is going to burn down and they will do everything possible to avoid repair/replacement. I'm hoping this would create a record of historical events as well as poor service performance by the dealer.

2023 GENESIS GV60- New Boston, NH
This car is fully electric. Upon start up in cold weather and for up to about 5 miles thereafter, the instrument panel remains black. This eliminates any displayed driving information including warnings, speedometer, driving mode and other items such as brake regeneration, etc. The distance traveled before the panel eventually energizes appears to be increasing. All other vehicle functions continue to operate. A saving grace for my car is that it displays the speed in the heads-up-display but all other information is unavailable. The dealer has determined that the instrument panel will be replaced under warranty. They state that the book price for the panel is in excess of $9,000! The car has approximately 23K mi at this time (1/13/2025)

The dashboard speedometer is configured in 10 MPH increments from 0 up to 40 then jumps to 20 MPH increments after that. Using the dashboard speedometer, the driver gets a different speed when transitioning from 40 to 60 and then back down to 40. The digital heads-up-display gives a consistent change through this speed range. Other speedometers on other models from this manufacturer do not have this dropout around 50 MPH. Changing the 0 to 40 range on the dial would slightly fix this. Since 50 MPH is a very common speed, I think this may eventually result in erroneous signals for the driver. Additionally, the Owner's Manual is illustrated with different speedometers from those which appear on the car.
