2021 GENESIS GV80- Sagamore Hills , OH
On two occasions in the last month the car has suffered a loss of power with the accelerator unresponsive to input. After 5-10 seconds of this still actively occurring the car began to shake violently while I was trying to find a safe place to stop the car out of the traffic lanes. Within a minute or so things would go back to normal. The first time I was in a 35mph zone so the car was relatively controllable but unable to keep at speed. The second time was on the interstate at 70mph in heavy traffic. The car reacted much more dangerously at this speed. The loss of power was more severe and the violent bucking and shaking of the car was very severe. I thought parts would start falling off the car at any moment, it was that violent. With my emergency flashers on I was able to exit the interstate without accident or injury but there was a bit of luck involved. It could have just as easily gone very badly in the heavy traffic. There is an open recall on the Genesis GV80 for the fuel pump needing replaced for this exact type of occurrence. [XXX] ). While my VIN is not part of the formal recall I feel 100% certain that this is the same exact issue. Numerous others with GV80's have had and are still having the exact issue. The car was dropped at the dealer (Genesis Bedford OH) last week. They kept the car for a week but were unable to duplicate due to the randomness of the issue. They returned the car without fixing the issue. They never mentioned anything about the GV80 fuel pump issue. I have an open case ([XXX]) with Genesis but they are refusing to replace the fuel pump or rectify the issue in any way. As is noted in the recall of the fuel pump this issue does not cause any check engine lights to activate nor is Genesis storing any type of code from the issue. The recall clearly states that a car with this fuel pump issue should not be driven. Genesis is currently refusing to assist me in getting the car fixed. 1. Navigtion wrong directions 2. The battery charge runs out too quickly *I said several times that the brakes and driver's seat belt were strange, seat belt wasn't locked no tighter If the seat belt did not work, there was no point in wearing it, so I experienced a big disappointment. so I ended up having it serviced for the second time, but the brakes are still working. One of the three recall problems with this car is the all wheel drive powertrain system, and it seems to be known as April 2023, but I signed a contract for the second car in September and it was finally fixed last month, which was February. The sign doesn't appear, but I can't confirm that it was fixed. The dealer who received the service was also incredible. Still tunes ?? sign on and off

My car as I was driving on the expressway stop getting power stop accelerating. The collision warning light came on and the check engine light came on. My car has done this several times while I am driving and it’s very scary. It even wouldn’t crank sometimes and the dealership couldn’t find anything wrong

Car was coasting into a resteraunt chain drive-thru lane, coming to a slow when the car very quickly excellerated. A quick application of the brakes stopped the rapid acceleration. Neither foot was on the gas, one was resting over the brake pedal in order to stop the car before reaching the car ahead of us. I have OEM floor mats that do not sit on the pedals. I was not using the Paddle shifters. This has happened on more than one occasion in similar conditions.

2022 GENESIS G70- San Gabriel, CA
Found condensation on both headlights. Took to dealer and they stated that it was caused by rock chips and Genesis will not cover the cost of repair. I talked to Genesis corporate office and they said condensation is normal and they will not repair it. I took my car to a body shop and they said the cracks are coming from where the screws attach to the headlights. All the cracks on the headlights are where the screws are. Now the daytime running lights and the turn signals are not working. This is a safety issue.

2023 GENESIS GV70- Louisville, CO
We were driving up a mountain pass in a great deal of stop and go traffic. The engine died and a check engine light came on. It was difficult to get the engine started, but it did start. We called the genesis service line and they said that it was a warning and ok to drive but to take it into be looked at. We proceeded up the mountain pass slowly, but when we were out of traffic and needed to give the engine gas to accelerate up the hills, the engine would not speed up. We were driving on interstates where we could only go 25 mph up the hill when others were speeding by us driving 60+ mph so we had to drive with our hazards in the right lane and hope not to get hit. When going down the hills, the engine would speed up, but any hills meant the speed would decrease even when you were engaging the gas. According the warnings we receive via Genesis in my app, the problem was Diagnostic code P0087F0 and said it was powertrain and the subsystem was EMS. We took the vehicle into the dealer and they were unable to recreate the problem. They reset the computer to the manufacturer reset. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This should not be happening on a 2023 car with 5000 miles on it.
