2023 GENESIS G70- Westerly, RI
The contact owns a 2023 Genesis G70. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the "Turn Signal Error" message was displayed and an orange master warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the residence, where the contact noticed condensation in the passenger’s side headlight. The contact stated that the passenger’s side turn signal bulb was replaced. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, and it was determined that the passenger’s side headlight was damaged by an object. The vehicle was not repaired. The insurance company was informed of the issue and notified the contact that the issues were related to common stress factors. The vehicle was then taken to an auto body shop, where it was determined that the seals of the passenger’s side headlight had cracks or holes, causing condensation and water to enter the headlight assembly. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that a week later, the driver's side headlight had a similar failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was determined that an impact might have caused the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a claim was submitted. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.

On XXX while driving at approximately 5mph in a parking lot my Genesis GV70 shifted from Drive to Park by itself causing the car and my wife and I to lurch forward and come to a stop! The car would not come out of Park and a warning came up after the fact saying to contact immediate service. My wife and I were in the car and there were no injuries. If this occurred at a higher rate of speed on a busy highway I cannot imagine what would have happened. I immediately called Genesis Road Assistance for a tow. The car was towed by flat bed to the dealer in [XXX], where I purchased the car, approximately 10 miles away where it sits today waiting for service. My wife and I are afraid to drive this car ever again as it is brand new with only 250 miles on the odometer. *No warnings of any kind prior to the incident. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

A/C compressor not coming on when cabin A/C does. This means it is also not coming on to cool the battery, which could prevent proper battery thermal management, raising safety and performance risks in hot climates. A/C compressor and inverter have been replaced without resolving the issue. It has been to two dealerships that independently diagnosed the problem as the A/C compressor. The car is currently at Allen Turner Genesis in Pensacola, FL so it should be available for inspection. There were no warning lamps illuminated.

Dear NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation, I am submitting this letter to request an urgent review of a recurring and widespread air-conditioning failure in the 2018 Genesis G80. The AC system consistently shuts off after extended driving and does not cool down when the car starts, especially in high-heat environments In Texas, cabin temperatures can exceed 120°F, creating conditions that can lead to heat exhaustion or heat-related illness. This is not an isolated incident. Many owners have reported identical symptoms: AC cooling stops after prolonged operation, airflow continues but without cooling, and the system only resets or thaws after the vehicle sits for an extended period. Despite these repeated complaints, no investigation or recall has been initiated. While AC failure is typically categorized as a comfort issue, the extreme heat exposure caused by this defect presents a legitimate safety concern. Occupants may become ill, visibility can be affected by humidity and fogging, and the failure appears to be tied to HVAC components that may not be functioning as designed.I respectfully request that NHTSA open a defect investigation into this issue to determine whether a safety recall is warranted. Thank you for your time and consideration.

2025 GENESIS GV70- Mt. Juliet, TN
On June 8, 2026, while driving home from work and actively entering the freeway, the vehicle experienced a sudden, severe, and catastrophic loss of propulsion. Despite pressing the accelerator, the vehicle completely refused to accelerate beyond 30 mph, forcing me to navigate active highway traffic at a dangerously low speed. This sudden failure to accelerate while merging onto a high-speed interstate created an immediate, life-threatening situation, leaving the vehicle highly vulnerable to a severe rear-end collision. The vehicle was towed to an authorized Genesis dealership on June 9, 2026. Genesis Motor America (GMA) corporate customer service was notified, and Case #42801757 was opened. On June 25, 2026, the dealership stated they performed code scans and test drives but could not replicate the intermittent symptom or find any stored fault codes, declaring the vehicle ready for pickup without identifying or correcting the root cause of this severe defect. When challenged on the phone regarding the severe safety risk of driving a vehicle that unpredictably loses highway propulsion, the service advisor dismissed the life-threatening concern as "hypothetical." On July 3, 2026, GMA Customer Service provided their assessment on Case #42801757, rigidly stating the vehicle is not eligible for Lemon Law relief and instructing me to follow the dealer's advice to pick up the un-repaired car. Genesis is actively using the threat of immediate loaner car charges to force an unsafe vehicle back onto public roads. I am uploading the full email correspondence as evidence that Genesis corporate is forcing a vehicle with an unaddressed, life-threatening propulsion failure back into service.

Driver side rear door electric latch is stop working and i tried to open the latch manually but the locked latch won't let me but remain locked. I have concerns with the situation because when door latch were broken due to accident, the door would remain locked and passengers would not be able to escape from inside of the car

Auto Start Stop seemed to have malfunction and shut the car off completely. I had to restart the car in traffic to get going. This happened twice, once going to work and once on a weekend trip to New Jersey. The only thing that's preventing an accident is you have to stop for the auto start feature to even activate.

On June 30, 2026 at approximately 1:13 PM EDT, my wife was maneuvering with the transmission in Drive to park our vehicle in the lot of our home. While in Drive, the driver's seat unexpectedly moved backward on its own, consistent with the vehicle's "Easy Access" seat memory feature activating. This left her unable to reach the brake pedal, and the vehicle careened over the curb and struck a stationary pole, resulting in damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle. Thankfully, neither the occupants of the vehicle, my wife and infant son, nor pedestrians were harmed. Had this occurred on the roadway, in front of a precipice or waterway, or any number of other locations, this failure could have resulted in death or serious bodily injury.
