While driving on a busy road. My car gave a message saying electrical failure and transmission failure. Within 20 seconds shut the car down before I could safely pull over and it was unable to start. Hazard lights didn’t work and I was stuck in the middle of the road until a tow truck came. The dealer diagnosed the problem as a failure of the dc to dc converter. It has been replaced but took two weeks to repair

While driving the dashboard suddenly showed a message saying Battery Charging Fault error” a few minutes later the car stopped driving while I was on a busy freeway. It had no power and it displayed several messages saying suspension system is disabled, battery issue, cameras disabled. I had try to navigate my rolling car to a side lane to call roadside assistance. It was a very dangerous incident and needs to be addressed. Land Rover in White Plains NY, diagnosed my vehicle saying the Dc to Dc converter needs to be replaced and they don’t have any in stock. They also mentioned they have 30 customer cars all waiting for the same part. This was scary and I’m grateful my children were not in the vehicle at the time.

BLOWER MOTOR stopped working. Due to the lack of forced air in the cabin, the windows and windshield fog up and it is impossible to see safely. Blower motor or blower motor resistor has failed providing no heat, no air conditioning, no air at all. Land Rover Service repair shop confirmed this is a $6,000+ repair due to needing to remove the dash completely (10 hours of labor). During rainy season, condensation builds in vehicle causing mold.

48V DCDC converter failed leaving car with no power or option to move safety to the side of the road. Part currently backordered due to a high amount of failures.

Daytime running lights has failed on the front headlights and follows pattern similar to known Special Service Message 75479. This reduces safety due to lower visibility since the DRLs should operate during normal driving conditions. I have reached out to the dealer and the Land Rover Corporate, both of which refuse to fix the issue unless I pay for parts and labor (est cost $5000+). This issue is dangerous since there is no indication on the dashboard or other warning unless the headlights are manually inspected while the vehicle is operating.

The DC/DC converter had failed after the recent software upgrade by JLR right in the middle of the road. Barely made to their shop. It has been a month since. No updates on the status of the fixing my car. Had call many times, no response. The car is in the JLR diller in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

I took my car in for an oil change, and they noticed a faint fuel smell (Which I had noticed as well). I had them look deeper and the found a small fuel leak, requiring Part LR140080 to repair. This part is worldwide back ordered from Land Rover. When I ordered at the Range Rover dealership they noted 146 people in front of me with no ETA in sight. The representative advised that the car was not safe to drive and they have a car at the dealership that has been waiting since November? Unacceptable. How can there be no recall if this is a known issue? The dealership noted that any fuel related issue has safety implications (fire, etc) I had a check engine light on which has since gone away. The shop ran a test and noted that the car was running in "lean" mode due to this part issue. Vehicle experienced sudden and complete shutdown while driving immediately after crossing railroad tracks. Dashboard warning displayed “battery failure.” Vehicle would not restart and would not shift into neutral, leaving it immobilized in traffic. Police department called and traffic was managed by 2 police officers. Vehicle was stuck on roadway and required manual override procedure (unknown to owner) to shift into neutral before being pushed off roadway. Vehicle was towed 250 miles. Dealership has indicated hybrid battery/system failure and ordered replacement battery. Concern: Sudden total loss of propulsion and inability to shift into neutral creates serious roadway safety hazard. If this had occurred seconds earlier, vehicle could have been immobilized directly on railroad tracks. Request investigation into hybrid battery/system failures causing sudden total shutdown without safe-mode capability.

DC-DC Converter failed, battery light came on mid-drive and I continued to drive to try and make it to my destination. Car systems started one by one shutting down, first my seat heater then eventually my steering and gas petal. The Vehicle then died and left me stranded in the middle of the road while cars were passing me leaving me unsafe and blocking the road for more than an hour untill a tow truck could arrive. I could have easily been in an accident if I was on a different road do to the steering assist and gas pedal not continuing to work. Making it unsafe for me and many people on the road. The car would also not turn on or go into neutral so I could push it off to the side. Making it a hazard blocking a major road. I took it to Land Rover dealer and they mentioned that this is currently a common issue among Defenders, they have a bunch of them sitting on the lot waiting for this part and it is currently back ordered for several months. Leading me to believe this isn't an isolated incident and that Land Rover should address it before someone gets hurt on the road.

The contact owns a 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15-20 MPH with her daughter in the vehicle, the contact heard a chugging sound, and the vehicle stopped independently. The contact was able to pull over near a stop sign and stopped and exited the vehicle and became aware that the front passenger’s side wheel had detached from the vehicle. The contact stated that the suspension had detached from the vehicle. The suspension system warning light was illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and was being diagnosed. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and documented an incident report. The failure mileage was 47,000.
