It’s been close to 60 days since I was notified of a major safety issue recall that they do not have a repair for. I am terrified to drive my car on certain roads and therefore trapped so to speak in my town. How much time do they have to figure out the fix? They are not offering loaner cars or rentals, which is unacceptable.

While driving approximately 30 mph in June 2024, my 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport unexpectedly displayed Gearbox Fault and Brake Fault warnings and shifted itself into Park while the vehicle was moving. The vehicle became immobilized in the roadway and could not be shifted out of Park for an extended period. The identical failure occurred again in July 2025 and July 2026. During the 2025 and 2026 events, the vehicle again became locked in Park and left me stranded. During the 2026 incident, the failure occurred twice within approximately fifteen minutes, and each event required approximately thirty minutes of repeatedly applying the brake pedal and cycling the electronic parking brake before the transmission would release. Land Rover dealerships have recovered transmission diagnostic trouble codes, including P099B-14 (Shift Solenoid G Control Circuit Low), and have repeatedly diagnosed the likely cause as an internal transmission valve body and/or internal transmission wiring harness failure. The Warranty Company - Fidelity Warranty Services (Carmax) has consistently refused to cover the repair of this vehicle stating that it must be replicated in front of the warranty technician. This is an intermittent issue which means it can not be replicated on demand. Instead of working with me, they continue to have me drive a vehicle which can put me and others at risk This failure has now occurred over three consecutive years and creates a significant safety concern because the vehicle can unexpectedly become immobilized and lose propulsion. I am submitting this complaint because I believe this may represent a recurring safety defect.

The center console infotainment display screen fails to boot on vehicle start-up, remaining entirely blank/black. Because the screen stays black, critical vehicle interfaces—including the mandatory rear-view backup camera system—are fully non-functional, creating a compliance and safety concern. This specific failure mode—a clock-synchronization mismatch causing a blank display at startup and loss of the backup camera—is identical to the defect addressed under Land Rover Safety Recall N972 (NHTSA Campaign #25V016000)

I am reporting a severe safety hazard regarding the braking and electronic parking brake system on my 2023 Range Rover Sport. Whenever the vehicle is exposed to significant moisture—such as immediately following a standard car wash or after sitting parked outside in humid or rainy conditions for 1 to 2 days—the brakes severely lock and freeze in place overnight.When attempting to drive the vehicle the following morning, the brakes refuse to release. In order to get the vehicle to move in Reverse or Drive, I am forced to apply aggressive, heavy accelerator pressure to break the vehicle free. When the brakes finally snap open, it produces a violent clunking sound, and the vehicle suffers a sudden, uncontrollable surge of forward or backward momentum.This sudden vehicle surge creates an immediate crash and pedestrian safety hazard in tight driveways, garages, and parking lots. Forcing a heavy luxury SUV to experience high-engine RPMs just to disengage the parking brake is completely unacceptable and unsafe. The manufacturer dismisses this as "surface rust," but the level of mechanical binding and subsequent vehicle surge constitutes a dangerous design or component defect that requires a safety investigation.

The contact owns a 2024 Land Rover Defender. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission unexpectedly shifted into neutral(N), with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle lost motive power. The contact swerved to the shoulder, and an object struck the windshield, causing the windshield to crack. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

I am reporting a vehicle safety concern regarding a 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport purchased from Carvana on February 27, 2026. The vehicle was delivered with 19-inch wheels. I subsequently obtained an official parts quote from Hennessy Jaguar Land Rover Buckhead — Land Rover's authorized Atlanta dealership — confirming the correct OEM wheel for this vehicle is a 21-inch alloy (part number LR072160) with 275/45 R21 tires. The vehicle was sold to me with a two-inch deviation from OEM wheel specification without disclosure. The safety consequences are documented. One tire failed within 48 hours of my taking possession. The remaining tires displayed visible sidewall ring damage indicating prior repeated flat incidents — conditions that should have been caught in any legitimate pre-sale inspection. Non-OEM wheel specifications on a performance variant vehicle alter load ratings, handling characteristics, and brake caliper clearance tolerances in ways not apparent to a consumer. I am requesting NHTSA document this safety concern and evaluate whether Carvana's inspection practices related to wheel and tire specifications represent a systemic pattern affecting other consumers nationally.

Gas leak in the fuel system. Obvious gas smell when car is turned on. Because of the impending danger i have taken the vehicle to á local independent service center for evaluation. They are in the process of confirming the problem. I could not chance driving too far to the dealer because of the hazzard and risk. There were no warning lights indicating the problem.

My car has the same issue as Recall No: 26V458, but it does not show on my VIN in order for my dealership to remedy the issue. The engine timing chain, timing chain tensioner, and chain guides failed/stretched prematurely at 54,715 miles. The parts are currently installed in the vehicle / available for inspection upon request. Premature failure or slipping of the timing chain tensioner can cause the engine to misfire, skip timing, or fail catastrophically without warning while driving. A sudden loss of engine power or sudden engine stall at highway speeds creates an immediate crash hazard and leaves the vehicle disabled in active traffic. Yes, the issue was diagnosed and confirmed by Land Rover Allentown (service visit on 07/17/2026 at 54,715 miles), which confirmed engine noise/timing chain wear requiring full assembly replacement. It was inspected and diagnosed by an authorized dealership service department (Land Rover Allentown). No police or insurance inspection was involved as there was no crash. Loud metallic rattling noises from the engine bay upon startup and acceleration, engine misfires, and rough idling. Symptoms began shortly before the July 2026 service visit at around 54,000 miles.

The vehicle out of nowhere began to make a werid clacking noise (possibly the lifters so we thought) my husband immediately pulled off the freeway the car sputtered; The engine immediately SEIZED, BEGAN TO SMOKE, and CAUGHT FIRE.
