THOR MOTOR COACH Complaints

As I was traveling in my Thor Tellaro with Dodge Ram 3500 chassis at 70 mph with cruise control set down I-10 northward a few miles past the rest stop after entering at [XXX] , my satellite dome flew off the top of my vehicle. It did not hit another vehicle but by time I could stop and get back around it had been hit by other vehicles in the roadway. NOTE: This is an RV built by Thor Motorhomes on a Ford Transit chassis. I believe the issue is caused by Thor. There is a sticker on the window of the side sliding door that gives instructions for unlocking the door (from the inside) in case of an emergency. The sticker states: "WARNING IN AN EMERGENCY, PULL THE LATCH TWICE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR". The instructions do not work. The sticker should only have been used on RV's on a Ram Promaster chassis as that is a standard function of that van. The Ford Transit does not have that feature. An employee at Thor acknowledged to me that the sticker was placed in error. I know that it was placed on at least one other (and possible many other) Ford based RVs. There has been nothing sent out to owners to warn them of this issue. In the event of a fire or accident this could delay or prevent a passenger from being able to exit the vehicle. The door can be unlocked manually so there is nothing that needs repair - people just need to be warned that the posted instructions are wrong.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F53. The contact stated that the lower bottom of the window was flapping. The contact used liquid adhesive to secure the windows. The windows were taped shut by the owner. The dealer was contacted and declined the repair. The dealer stated the failure was not associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V522000 (Structure, Equipment). The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 11,550.

The contact owns a 2022 Thor Motor Coach Magnitude. The contact stated that the solar inverter failed to function as intended. The contact was unable to turn off or turn off the inverter. The warning lights were illuminated. A mobile RV mechanic arrived at the residence and diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the inverter Freedom 2000 was underrated for the vehicle and the compartment was not vented for heat. The contact was informed that the compartment was extremely HOT, and the metal inside turned blue where the positive wire was attached to the bolt. The mobile mechanic stated that it was luck that the recreation vehicle did not catch fire. The inverter Freedom Xantrex 2000 was replaced with an inverter Freedom Xantrex 3000. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the warranty had expired and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 28,846. The VIN was not available.

I stopped at a campground after leaving SC. Discovered a Thor factory solar panel had detached somewhere between SC and Arkansas. The mounting bracket was still attached to the roof but the bolts, washers and nuts were missing on 2 of the 4 mounts and the other mounts had loose components. It would have been a possible catastrophic event if it would have detached at highway speeds.

Windows have detached from adhesive and the window does not shut or seal. There is a recall on the windows for this problem but when I put my vin number in here it does not come up as a recall.

I am the owner of a Thor Sequence 20K RV built on a 2022 Ram ProMaster 3500 chassis, purchased new in Florida. My vehicle Vin [XXX] is subject to safety recall # 25V-720 involving a potential engine fire- compartment fire risk. There is no repair or remedy currently available and no timeline has been provided by the manufacturer. Because of the fire risk, the vehicle is unsafe to operate. In addition the open safety recall has rendered the vehicle unsellable and untradeable, causing substantial loss of value and use through no fault of my own . Dealers and sale platforms refuse to accept the vehicle due to unresolved fire risk recall. The vehicle is a RV which increases the severity of safety risk due to fuel, electrical systems and living components. The contact owns a 2018 Thor Motor Coach Windsport. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving in cold temperatures, the windshield immediately became foggy. The defroster was activated but only the center vents operated as intended, while the far left and right vents failed to work as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the OE system had two hoses connecting to the distribution box and A/C, but had no way for air to reach the far right and left vents. The vehicle was repaired by modifying the system to direct the air to all the vents. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

High pressure line from the break/steering pump has broken twice. Broken lines are available for inspection. Safety of driver/passenger and other drivers were at risk. Steering very heavy and breaking almost impossible. Dealer has not looked at it. Nearest dealer is over 250 miles away. Local Mobile Mechanic picked up parts from local dealer and installed. No warning signs of problem. Ford has not requested to look at it or offered any solution.

I brought a 2025 THOR RV Geneva VS24, VIN: [XXX] . THOR and Blue Compass RV drove this RV for 2046 miles with the headlights not working, a bad headlight relay was found by Ford, the part is a THOR relay. This is a road safely issue driving roads without headlights. Second issue; I have to disconnect the smoke alarm to use the stove top, THOR didn't install a exhaust fan/vent to get rid of smoke when cooking. Third issue; The engine cover seal was not in place allowing heat and engine fumes to enter the driver cab area. Fourth issue: Windshield not installed correctly at factory, it was leaking water through the upper part of the windshield, the windshield could fall off the RV while driving down the road, a bracket was not installed correctly per Blue Compass RV shop.
