New motor put in due to drive train seizing up sept 2025. “Oil pressure low” and died while stopping at a red light in May 2026. Would not crank back. New motor only had 40k miles. Supposedly GM will not cover tow or rental.

I was driving at the speed about 30~ miles/per hour on the city road, as I was slowing down to turn into the Penera Bread where I plan to, and I pressure the break paddle, the break paddle was stocked, it cannot pressed down. It was extremely dangerous situation, I cannot stop the vehicle, and it was very scary. I finally switch the driving to 'P" to stop the vehicle, and route the vehicle to curb to force hard stop. This is extremely risky situation. My understanding is model year 2020 - 20xx Equinox has reported this problem by many consumers. Vehicle brake stocked while driving, I hope there is no injury or death occurs. This is extremely dangerous. My seatbelt pressed really hard on me, my chest hurts from this sudden hard stop, and I am so scared. A week after, I still cannot resume the driving due to the impact of the situation.

    1. An electrical failure from a component of the main wiring harness causes the ECM to respond with Service ESC, Reduced Engine Power, Service parking brake, service traction control. 2. Interstate driving requires maintaining rate of speed to avoid collision. The vehicle is much more difficult to drive as acceleration is very poor and also main safety functions like traction control are disabled. 3. Check engine light stays on until codes have been read. After codes have been cleared, normal driving and usually turning or bumps in the road tend to trigger the recurrence. 4. The vehicle has only been reviewed by the dealership for this issue. 5. No warnings before the failure occurs

Wife was shopping with our kids. Stated she smelled gas and it continued to get stronger smelling as she drove. Noticed the mile to empty graph was going down really fast. I had her pull over at a safe location and look underneath the truck for anything out of the ordinary. Found gas running out of the engine bay dripping on the hit exhaust and atomiziing. I had her shut the truck off immediately and get herself and kids clear of the truck immediately. Had the vehicle towed to the dealership to have inspection and repairs. No warning lights came on. Dealership says faulty high pressure fuel pump. Caused by wet weather The dealership said it was road tested but it had the same milage as when the vehicle was brought in for the service. Wife picked up the truck from Chevy dealership with a very strong oder of gas still in the truck. I'm wife and kids use that vehicle daily. Very concerned

The clear coat has completely failed on mainly the hood and roof of the entire vehicle. Each of the sides have lost a good amount of shine too but there hood and roof are a compete different color compared to the rest of the Tahoe. The paint is the pewter/grey so it is extremely noticeable and very much an eyesore.

Between XXX, a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox RS experienced repeated sudden loss of engine power, throttle control, and steering control at highway speeds. Fuel management system, turbocharger, and catalytic converter failed repeatedly. GM-authorized dealer confirmed defects on multiple warranty repair orders. Breakdown 1: Nov 2024, interstate, rain, nighttime. Vehicle lost power and steering surrounded by semi-trucks on three sides with a ditch on the right. Towed to GM dealer. Breakdown 2: Dec 2024, [XXX], 2 miles from home. Same failure. Semi on driver side, vehicles fast approaching from rear, ditch on right. Crawled under 35 mph for 5 miles to next exit. GM OnStar app confirmed Engine/Transmission and Emissions System warnings. Independent scan confirmed P0299, P0171, P00C6. Check Engine FAIL, Emission Ready NO. Breakdown 3: XXX, [XXX] , 1 AM, winter storm. Same failure. Driver stranded. Sustained burns from superheated hood mechanism and fall injuries on wet pavement. Dealer confirmed turbocharger damage, blocked catalytic converter, and fuel rail pressure failures across multiple visits. On fourth repair attempt, dealer technician documented a component from a prior repair had fallen out and was not caught, directly causing the next breakdown. GM Technical Assistance Center was engaged. Same fault codes recurred across all four repair attempts. MyChevrolet app diagnostics, independent AutoZone scans, and dealer warranty repair orders confirm the recurring defect pattern. Vehicle was repossessed by lender in June 2025 following loan delinquency caused directly by extended repair periods and income loss from recurring defects. Vehicle no longer in owner's possession. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

When I shift the transmission into park., turn off the ignition, there is an error message - shift into park. Even though I shifted into park, the power stays on, ie stereo, lights, HVAC etc. This is putting a strand on the battery, and computer systems. I now have a list of BCM codes - no communications. Dealer says it will take 2-3 days w/appointment All the vehicles (Volt & Bolt have National recall for the SAME problem) it is a Shifter micro switch The whole shifter assembly needs to be replaced. As I leave the truck, the warning beeper keeps blaring. I'm afraid someone could steal the truck.
