2019 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY- Richmond, VA
The windshield seal failed at the top of the windshield, allowing significant water intrusion into the vehicle cabin. The windshield had previously been replaced under a manufacturer recall/service action, but that repair failed. Water intrusion caused failure of the Occupant Restraint Control Module (RCM), impairing airbag system functionality. Water also damaged the audio amplifier and other electronic components. Interior flooring and insulation are saturated and require removal and remediation. The defect was confirmed by an authorized Land Rover dealer, who identified the source of the leak as a defective windshield seal. Warning messages related to vehicle systems appeared after the water intrusion was discovered. The vehicle is no longer safe to operate due to compromised safety systems. This is the second Land Rover Discovery I have owned that has experienced catastrophic windshield sealing failure resulting in extensive water damage. The manufacturer declined responsibility and advised filing an insurance claim.

2017 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT- Lindenhurst, IL
Hi there, I purchased this car used with approximately 78,000 miles on it and this incident occurred at 94,000 miles. The car is equipped with a system call ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement) system. The system sends hydraulic fluids to each cornering of the car to help stabilize it around corners. Land Rover installed steel hard lines to deliver the fluids to each corner. They also tucked the lines to the side of the car and added a cover to protect the lines. However, that only caused these lines to fail, because moisture containing salt in the winters can travel to these lines and causes them to rust and no matter how much under carriage wash is performed, no clean water can get to them to wash away the salt. My lines failed on me and that cost me $4,400 in repairs at Lake Bluff Land Rover in the state of Illinois. They informed me there's more lines that need to be replaced which will cost an additional $5,500 in repair. When I complained to Land Rover that they should have installed stainless steel lines instead of steel to prevent this from happening, they assured me if this will become a common issue, they would perform a recall and issue a refund. When I spoke to the technicians at the Land Rover dealership, they told me they are getting a lot of cars with the same issue. I do not have the resources to investigate this issue nor the authority, but NHTSA does. Would you please look into this matter? It's a big safety concern and it's a huge mistake on Land Rover which they are avoiding to taking responsibility for. Thank you. 2020 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER VELAR- Alexandria, VA
Summary: Remote start causes repeated, predictable failure of critical safety systems including traction control, hill descent control, and automatic emergency braking. Description of Problem: When the vehicle is started using the factory app for phones, the lower infotainment screen (the climate/drive assist panel) frequently fails to initialize properly. As a result, the icons and functions for Traction Control, Hill Descent Control do not illuminate or activate. The vehicle then displays warnings such as “Hill Descent Control Not Available” and “Automatic Braking Not Available.” This failure occurs approximately 99% of the time when using remote start. If I begin driving with the vehicle in this state, all of these systems remain deactivated. These features are essential for safe driving especially in winter conditions yet the malfunction leaves the vehicle without stability control, hill descent functionality, and automatic braking assistance. Safety Concern: This issue creates a dangerous situation where the vehicle behaves unpredictably and lacks core safety features required for traction, stability, and controlled braking. This is particularly unsafe in cold, icy, or low-visibility environments where remote start is most likely to be used. Reproducibility: The issue occurs consistently after remote start. If the vehicle is parked, fully shut down, locked, and left undisturbed for 10–15 minutes, the systems return to normal. The malfunction clears before the dealership can inspect it, leaving no fault codes stored. Dealer Response: The dealership has been unable to diagnose the issue because the fault resets itself before technicians can observe it. They report “no codes stored,” yet the problem persists daily and is easily reproducible by any owner using remote start. Why This Needs Investigation: This is not an isolated glitch. It disables multiple federally-regulated safety systems. A potential software or integration failure is affecting the control module

2022 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER EVOQUE- Austin, TX
My vehicle is subject to an active AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL. The recall has been open for 112 days. The authorized Land Rover dealer has confirmed that the manufacturer does not have repair parts available and no repair completion date has been provided. Although the vehicle is technically drivable, it is unsafe due to the airbag defect. The airbag system may fail to deploy properly in a crash, increasing the risk of serious injury or death. The manufacturer has failed to remedy this safety defect within a reasonable time. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of others.
